Volumetric Measurement
Automatic determination of the size of a cavity volume
and display of the absolute volumetric size or deviation from a reference
volume.
Typical Applications:
-
Combustion Chamber volumes of cylinder heads
-
Piston recess volume
-
Viscous clutches.
Volume-Dependent Leak Test
Closed hollow bodies which have no air inlet opening are placed in a capsule
for leak testing, the cavity volume between the workpiece and the interior
of the capsule is subjected to test pressure. Pressurisation takes place
from an expansion chamber, from which compressed air, precompressed during
the filling stage, expands into the capsule. The ratio of expansion volume
to cavity volume and the pressure in the expansion chamber before the
filling stage is selected such that the test pressure occurs in the cavity
volume, if the workpiece has no big leak (principle of volumetric
measurement). The presence of the test pressure at the end of the filling
stage is monitored and trigger the levelling and measuring stages.
Backpressure Measurement
Testing for passage free.
Testing for cross-section free.
Valve clearance testing.
