Automatic
transmissions are subjected to extensive tests prior to installation into
a vehicle. During these tests, all functions
are dynamically checked under
simulated road conditions.
Typical tests are: Noise,
correct shift points, shift time, or in the case of CVT transmissions,
monitoring of proper gear ratio in dependence of road speed, gas pedal and
gear lever position.
