Series production of fuel cell stacks
Last week marked an exciting milestone: Supported by the state of Baden-Württemberg, together with our cooperation partner, we successfully commissioned a fuel cell stack on a test bench developed by JW Froehlich Maschinenfabrik GmbH.
The test bench is now operating at the Centre for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW) in Ulm – one of Europe's leading institutions for fuel cell research.
This marks a major step forward: The prototype of a new JW Froehlich product is now undergoing testing in a cutting-edge research environment. The test bench is capable of analyzing fuel cell stacks with electrical outputs of up to 10 kW, covering the full operational range. Control and regulation are handled via ZSW’s proprietary software in close interaction with the JW Froehlich PLC software, ensuring precise and efficient testing.
This successful deployment not only demonstrates our technical capabilities but also confirms our expertise in automation and project management. Together with ZSW, we’ve laid the foundation for developing test benches for the series production of fuel cell stacks – a significant step toward a sustainable hydrogen economy.
We’re excited to see how the fuel cell market will evolve in the coming years and are proud to contribute to this forward-looking technology.
