JWF Two-Factor Authentication
In connected production environments, different user roles access test programs, process parameters, and quality characteristics. Changes can be implemented technically and often take effect immediately. At the same time, regulatory requirements regarding traceability, accountability, and protection against manipulation continue to increase.
The JWF Two-Factor Authentication solution helps safeguard access to security-critical functions and supports controlled, documented interactions within the production process. It strengthens protection against unauthorized changes while improving transparency and compliance with regulatory requirements.

JWF Two-Factor Authentication extends existing login procedures with an additional layer of identity verification. In addition to a username and password, a second authentication factor is required before security-relevant changes can be executed, enabling tamper-proof documentation and enhanced process security.
How It Works
- Integration with existing IT domains
- Centralized authorization management via SOLVISO®
- Two-factor authentication for predefined security-critical changes
- Activation of a fully traceable audit trail
Typical production line risk scenarios
- Unauthorized access to test stations and production systems due to weak or shared user credentials.
- Manipulation of process parameters or test sequences by users without the required authorization.
- Insufficient traceability of user actions, making audits and incident investigations more difficult.
- Unauthorized use of security-critical functions such as flashing, key management, or product release processes.
- Production disruptions caused by incorrect user assignments, missing approvals, or identity fraud.
- Regulatory non-compliance resulting from inadequate access control and documentation of security-relevant activities.
- Increased cybersecurity risks when user identities cannot be reliably verified across distributed production environments.
Authentication Process
JWF Two-Factor Authentication reduces these risk scenarios on office and rework computers by adding an extra layer of identity verification and enforcing a clear role and permission structure.
Technical Implementation
The solution integrates seamlessly into existing production and IT environments. User authentication is performed via the JWF login service and linked to the customer's domain. Security-critical modifications to test programs or parameters are only released after successful two-factor authentication.
