End-of-line function test stand for hybrid drive units

The robot-assisted end-of-line (EOL) function test stand, developed for a German OEM, is designed for the efficient and low-maintenance testing of a new hybrid drive unit. The system measures electrical currents, torque, and oil pressure within the powerhead, ensuring that valve and clutch operations maintain the correct pressure levels at all times. Additionally, structure-borne noise measurements verify that all components are properly assembled. 

With automated setup, teardown, and testing processes, as well as the preparation of the next powerhead during the test cycle, the system achieves a cycle time of just 180 seconds. 

Since open oil is used during testing, a special concept was developed to minimize oil carryover. Drawing from years of experience in the development of complex test stands and hybrid drive component testing, JW Froehlich provided expert guidance in designing this specialized test stand concept.
